Rainy days and Mondays ALWAYS get me down

But not today.

Today, it is SUNNY outside.

This is major.

(Stop humming that song now, and focus. *giggle*)

I am one of these people that can be greatly affected by the weather if I choose to allow myself to be. When it is bright and beautiful out, I feel sunny and happy inside. When it is gray and rainy.....a lot of times I feel down. I don't know why that is, but when I have mentioned it to other people, they understand exactly what I am talking about, so I am thinking that this is something that is fairly common to other people as well.

We have had so much rain in the past two weeks, it has almost been unbelievable. How much, exactly? I'll tell you. Over 16 inches, just in the month of June alone! Yes, we are only on day 16....so that averages out to an inch a day.

Unbelievable.

You know it has rained a lot when you are driving down the road and you see several large ducks swimming in a lake....not too unusual....except that the lake is in a corn field. *giggle*

No joke.

But today, the weather is....yes, I will go ahead and use the word glorious. It is sunny, not humid, and about 75 degrees. Just about perfect.

I am so thankful to see the sun today.

I am even more thankful for a Heavenly Father who knows exactly what He is doing when He sends 16 inches of rain in 16 days, or, chooses not to send any at all for an entire summer. He knew exactly what He was doing 6 months ago when He took our little one to heaven. He knows what is going on with our American economy. He sees our inflation problems, our mortgage crisis, our gas prices, and our food prices. He loves us, His children, and promises to take care of every need we have, no matter what circumstances are going on around us. It may not always be the way we think is best--but you know, to me, that is a GREAT thing. My attitude (and therefore, my thoughts and actions) can change based on the weather, for crying out loud. He NEVER changes. His ways are the absolute best ways for us.

That thought is even more glorious to me than the amazing weather today, and I just thought I would share.

Isaiah 55:8-9 "'For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways', saith the LORD. 'For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts.'"
