I've never taught him fractions....

Mommy to Cameron and Colin at nap time: "Does anyone need to go potty before rest today?"

Colin: "I do!"

Mommy follows Colin into the bathroom, to expedite the process--otherwise, going peepee might take 10-12 minutes....

It has become routine at our house to beg to get out of bed at night or at rest because "I have to go paaaaaahhhtteeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!"

So, I have begun trying to ward off this process by threatening telling the boys that they better really have to go when they get up, or they will be in trouble for telling Mommy something that wasn't true just to get out of bed.

I'm sure that was on his mind when Colin said: "I might only have to go a little bit, Mommy."

Mommy: "That's okay. Just go what you can."

He proceeds to lift up the lid and go......and go some more.....

As he is going he says, "Oh! There is more in there than I thought."

.....and go some more.....

And then he says, "Well, I guess I went more than a little bit. But, I didn't go full. I just went about three quarters."

Wha?!

Devin, you had both Drew and I laughing until we were crying!!! That has to be the funniest thing I have heard all week! I must say, I've never heard of fractions applied in quite that way before! :)

Ha! I'm laughing out loud! Not only can I relate to the "need" to get out of bed to use the bathroom, but one of my favorite things is when my son speaks with words and concepts that he likely doesn't quite get but he fits them into context pretty well.
