I began singing today, and soon, the boys began singing along with me. We love The Sound of Music around here.
After several times through the song, I dropped out.
Colin, however, sang right on.
His version was so funny that I had to grab a pen.
"Do, a Deer" as sung by Colin (with incorrect words italicized by yours truly):
"Doe--a deer, a feel man deer
Rain--a drop of falling suuuuuuuuun
Me--a name I call my cell
Far--a long off way to ruuuuuuuuun
Sew--a needle pulling bread
La--a no to follow sooooooooooooooo
Ti--a drink from moldy bread
That will bring us up to doe doe doe doe doe...."
I love it. And when it's not exactly right, I love it all the more....

so cute! It is always funny to see what they "hear" when they listen to a song. We've had a few "discussions" over words, because they just knew I was wrong:):)
That's cute, Devin! :) Our current favs are Chitty, Chitty Bang Bang and Mary Poppins, or as Aaron says, "Chim Chimmery." Love these boys!!!
That is just so cute! Sometimes it's just TOO CUTE to correct too!
You mean those AREN'T the words? Shoot.
LOL
One of my favorite song lyric mess-ups came from Bug when she was probably about 6 - Singing the B-I-B-L-E..."I stand around on the word of God..."
LOVE IT!
We just watched the Sound of Music together for the first time in a loooong time Friday night.
Mostly because my daughter is learning the Doe a deer song in music class.
I am sure we will be singing it quite a bit, and I will be listening for "creative" versions :)
