Picnicking

We have the best tree in our front yard. Really. It was one of the first things I loved about this house when we moved here.

Our tree is good for everything--it is a beautiful tree to look at; gives great shade in the summer; turns beautiful color in the fall and keeps it's leaves for a really long time; and it's got tons of low branches, which makes it exceptional for pictures and climbing! We are making more memories that include our tree everyday.

If you've read this blog for awhile, you've already seen our tree in in a post or two.

We have been having wonderful weather here. We have had a lot of rain (over 3 inches in the last 24 hours alone; yikes!), but on the days when it is has not been raining it has just been beautiful! Sunny and not too hot--mid seventies or so. We haven't even turned our air on yet. I think that may be a record for us--June 3 and no A/C!

So, the front yard under the tree has become a frequent lunch spot for us on nice days....a beautiful, shaded spot where we can enjoy our 'traditional weekday lunch' of peanut butter and jellys (or, pee-bah-gettys, as Cameron would say), triscuits, cheese, and pudding.

What a great day for a picnic in the yard....

Cameron was enjoying himself quite a bit!

Cameron and Ethan were sitting and eating quite contentedly.....

.....when Cameron decided.....

.....to love on Ethan a little bit!

"I'm not really sure what that was all about....."

That's the thing about eating outside; there's always something to look at!

Ethan chowing down on his triscuits--his favorite!
"Oh, man....these are sooooooooo good."

"I really like it out here Mommy!"

Sharing

Cameron doing I-don't-know-what but it was a funny pic so I posted it!

"That was funny, huh Mom?"

"I love me some triscuits..... "

"I'd say, Mom....this is a really wonderful place to have lunch!"

Looks like a great time! We went for a picnic after Church and I plan to do it every Sunday till it just gets too hot out. My kids have been wanting to picnic so we've been eating lunch in the garage when Daddy is working on the house, I can't wait till we get grass again!! They boys are all adorable, and I can't believe Ethan is sitting there! I always have to bring out Brodys chair otherwise he's out of there!!

THat does look like a great spot for a picnic. You've inspired me to do more of that kind of thing, once our rain stops too. Which I hope is soon.

That is the best tree! I am a little envious of the picnic...it hasn't been under 90 degrees here in a while so no picnics for us! Your crew looks great!

What sweeties. Cameron's face is too much, so cute. This is what I love about summer-picnics.
