Colin: "Mom, can I hold Lola?"
Me, very surprised, because he is in the middle of playing the Wii--which is currently his absolute favorite thing to do: "Sure Col. Do you want to finish playing your game?"
Colin: "No, that's okay."
Me: "Well, she's kind of tired...."
Colin: "That's okay. She can just sleep with me."
So, I handed her over.
Then I had an afterthought.
Me: "Colin, did you wash your hands* when you came home from school?" (*one of our must-follow rules)
Colin: "Ummmm....no....."
At this point, Lola is already in his arms, and comfy. I just left it.
Me: "Okay, well, make sure that you do not touch her face or her hands, okay? Your hands are dirty from being at school all day, and we don't want to pass those germs onto her. Okay?"
Colin: "Okay."
Several minutes go by. Colin is still holding her, and he's doing great. This has lasted much, much longer than I thought it ever would. He is still actively participating in playing the Wii....just directing Cameron, rather than playing himself. *grin* Typical bossy older brother.
Several more minutes go by. He's still doing great. Then I hear:
Colin: "Mom, I feel like Lola has some....some pointy teeth or something inside her mouth."
My heart sinks. I come rushing into the family room.
Me, slightly hysterical at the thought of him feeling inside her mouth: "Colin! Are you putting your fingers in her mouth?!?"
Colin: "No, Mom!"
Oh, whew. Enter a big sigh of RELIEF here.
Then, I gave that another thought. Wait a minute....
Me: "Well then, how do you feel something pointy in her mouth?"
Colin: "Because. I'm putting my tongue in there."

Are you serious???
I mean, I know you are, because..I have boys and nothing is actually unbelieveable with them...but at first I thought you were just trying to be funny. Then, I thought again...no - you are probably serious.
Yikes - sorry Little Lola - you are going to have one interesting life! A good one, but maybe a little gross :)
Ummm...... GROSS Colin! That is unbelievale. Only a boy would think of doing soemthing like that. That is hysterical.
Oh my word! You made me laugh so hard, what was he doing?!? Maybe you and Shane better cool it down in front of the kids, K? ;0)
Um so I just laughed so loud that rog shushed me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HILARIOUS!!!!! I love it!
I rarely laugh out loud. This made me do it. Loving watching your little girl become a part of your family, although, I'm not so sure she's going to want to hear that story later in life.... hahaha
oh. wow.
i'm gonna have to be on the lookout for that! =)
I just about woke Wesley up because I was laughing so hard at that one!
That is absolutely one of the funniest and at the same time most disgusting things EVER!!!
Thank Heaven for little boys - they sure do keep you on your toes, huh Mama??

That is so funny but I know I would be crying at that point if that were going on at my house! I'm so afraid of the germs Cait might bring home from K-Garten!!
Love and hugs,
Amanda
Oh.My.Word...I laughed so hard at this. Where in the world do they come up with ideas like that? That is hysterical.
Congratulations on your darling little Lola. She is gorgeous, and I love her name. She's amazing. Have so much fun with her!

What a good boy obeying Mummy. Oh well. Good to build up her immune system. Ha ha
Tears running down my face, I'm laughing so hard. That is HILARIOUS! Thanks for sharing.
THAT WAS AWESOME! I laughed so hard I almost peed on myself. Wow.
omg I would have died...I am a germafob anyhow! Ewwww...lol...oh well...think of it this way...it'll built up her immunity!! :)
I am thinking, as gross as that is, that his hands might actually be worse! Especially just home from school where he was potentially touching everyone else's germies!
Ahhhhhhh! That seriously made me laugh OUTLOUD! Wow...not much to say but hilarious. We didn't hear the rest of the story- your reaction? :) Love you girl and I thank you so much for remembering Maddox with sweet Lola's birthday! I will always remember her day too... and it will be wonderful because she will always make me smile. My niece was actually born at 9am on the 24th... probably good for Julianne and all of us- her sweet own day.
Love you lots!
Kenz
