Mommy vs. Daddy

Every kid does it at some point.

But Cameron hasn't yet....that is, until last night.

We were all sitting together--all five of us, on the couch, lined up this way: Daddy on one end, then Colin, Ethan, and Mommy, and then Cameron on the opposite end--watching a movie together as a family. The boys love when we do this--they call it a "family movie."

The family movie of choice last night, by the way, was KungFu Panda.

We were all sitting and watching, when all of a sudden Cameron excitedly shouted to Shane (and I'm thinking to myself, "Goodness, he's on the other end of the couch, Cami, not on the other end of the house.....):

"Daddy!? Can I have some popcorn?"

And Shane replied,

"No, Cameron....we just ate dinner. Just sit and watch the movie."

To which, Cameron looked up at me with big, sad blue eyes and frowned.

Then, he leaned over, put his little arm around my neck and pulled me in close for what I thought was a cuddly little hug....until he put his lips directly on my ear and whispered,

"Mommy....can I have some popcorn?"

Little sneak.

And so it begins....

Too cute! I've said it before and I'm going to say it again- your Cameron reminds me so much of my Austin (he's my second-born too)! That's so something he would do! Anyway, we do 'family night' too. It usually consists of a movie and pizza (eaten while watching the movie). Our boys LOVE it! I love helping create little traditions and memories for them!

:) The fun begins...... We usually don't get that too much because our standard answer is "Mommy will check with Daddy (or vice versa) and then give you an answer." Never had them ask with both of us in the same room before!

We usually have a "nic-nic" (Aaron's word for picnic) with our movie nights. We spread a large comforter on the living room floor and have finger foods - fresh fruits and veggies, crackers, cheese, etc. and sometimes popcorn! :)

HA HA!!!! That's great! Puckey does that to us fairly often, and doesn't even bother trying to whisper her request to the one she's trying to "get one over on" (who is usually Daddy, by the way. I'm the "mean" one in our house. LOL)

I'm laughing out loud. You can't help but laugh when they start that kind of scheming. We figure that's why there's two of us - so we can take turns responding seriously while the other is stiffling laughter.

Ahh the ol' divide and conquer...happens frequently at our house. We make every effort to maintain a united front...but sometimes I cave! Ugh it's horrible..little boys do something to you! :)

I love me some family movie time!

Merry Christmas D, to you and your beautiful family!!!
